AFGHAN WAR RUG
AFGHAN WAR RUG
Spotted in a dusty bazaar in the southern region of our battle space, I fell deeply in love with this handmade war rug. I brought it back in 2014, from Kandahar Afghanistan during my last deployment with the US Dept of Defense. Due to the hostile nature of the landscape, I pulled some serious logistic and bureaucratic strings to make it happen. It is now available to one lucky collector. This rug tells a contemporary tale about a geopolitical struggle that we fortunately do not witness ourselves.
Much like a heartbroken poet who pens his masterpiece after a torrid love affair, this rug too tells a grim monologue through it's beautiful depiction of archaically rendered AK-47s, tanks, helicopters and grenades. What is really rare about this rug is its size. Measuring a hefty 6'8" by 9'10" it is sure to make a bold statement in any setting.
